Frankie Wilson
All at QUBAFC are saddened to hear of the passing of Frankie Wilson. Frankie was a colleague, a teacher and a friend to many throughout our club. We wish to pass on our deepest sympathies to his family, friends and all at Banbridge Town FC and Our Lady and St Patrick's College, Knock.
Our Club Chairman, Denis Clarke, further commented:
“Everyone in Queen's University Football Club is saddened to learn of the death of Frankie Wilson.
“He was a great friend of University Football, and he liked nothing better than talking about playing in the Collingwood Cup for the University of Ulster, Jordanstown in the early 1990s when he took part in three finals.
“In recent years Frankie built a tremendous relationship with our development staff at Queen's Football Club. During his time as manager for the NI Schoolboy team he played a key role in the selection and recruitment of our Future Stars Programme'.
“We will always remember him for his boundless enthusiasm for football and for life in general. You always felt better after having a conversation with Frankie, he was such a kind, positive person who will be greatly missed by all of us who knew him.
“We would like to extend our deepest sympathy to Tara, Ella, Luke and Lisa, the wider Wilson family and to his many friends.”
